What We Do and Who We Support
Since 2012, Hyperclub has been dedicated to supporting both adults and children with a variety of disabilities and health conditions. Our goal is to help individuals become more independent and confident while overcoming isolation and social exclusion. We provide opportunities for people to engage with others who have similar experiences by participating in group activities such as clay making, ceramic painting, sewing, crafts, bingo, music and singing, cooking, and many other enjoyable pursuits. Recognizing the uniqueness of each individual, we strive to offer a diverse range of activities to ensure everyone finds something they enjoy.
Training, learning, volunteer, employment
In addition to recreational activities, we provide various training and learning opportunities that enable participants to develop new skills or expand their knowledge. This can potentially help them transition into volunteer roles or employment in the future.
The start and expansion
Hyperclub began in 2012 as a small group operating from a local church, primarily supporting children with ADHD, ADD, OCD, and Autism. Our initial aim was to create a safe and fun environment where children could be themselves and interact with peers. As the demand for our services grew, we relocated to a larger facility to better accommodate the increasing number of children in need of suitable activities.
As volunteer parents and caregivers, we soon realized the need for similar services for adults and elderly individuals with additional needs. To address this, we applied for space in our local community center, which allowed us to expand our support to adults during the day and children in the evenings, providing parents with much-needed respite.
One challenge we faced in our new location was accessibility for elderly individuals due to a lack of public transportation. To solve this issue, we conducted fundraising efforts and successfully purchased a minibus to facilitate transportation, greatly benefiting our community members. As our group continued to expand, we applied for and received charity registration in 2016.
With our charitable status, we were able to offer an even wider range of activities, training, and learning opportunities within a group setting. Our services became increasingly recognized, leading to partnerships with health professionals who began referring individuals to us regularly. Our support extended from children as young as five years old to elderly individuals up to 97 years old.
As demand continued to rise, we sought further funding to accommodate more individuals who were still facing isolation. Our efforts led us to acquire a larger facility in Lochgelly, which has enabled us to significantly expand our services. The Lochgelly community has been incredibly supportive and appreciative, and they have embraced us as the primary hub for community support.
Lochgelly community support
Since February 2024, our operations in Lochgelly have grown to include food collections six times a week to assist struggling families. We provide daily food bags containing vegetables, fruits, and bread, and also prepare hot meals such as soups and casseroles using donated food items.
Hyperclub remains committed to offering invaluable services and opportunities to our community, ensuring that no one feels isolated and that everyone has the chance to thrive.
Children Aged 14 and Above
We take great pride in the success stories we've helped create. Since 2012, we’ve worked closely with children, empowering them to develop the skills and confidence needed for a brighter future.
When some of these children reached 14, we provided volunteer placements, allowing them to gain valuable skills while supporting other children joining our club. Through this, they gained the confidence to become independent and trust in their abilities. With our training and support, many of these young people have gone on to pursue employment opportunities. We also secured funding and collaborated with Business Gateway to offer paid jobs, enabling them to further develop their skills and achieve their personal goals.
Today, many of the young people we’ve supported (18 so far) are now working outside of our club and giving back by helping others. They’ve grown into responsible, independent adults who have overcome various challenges to reach their personal goals.
Adults with Learning Difficulties
When we first began supporting adults with learning difficulties, many attended our club with the assistance of their carers, who helped them navigate public transportation. Over time, we encouraged and supported them in becoming independent travelers, teaching them how to use public transportation on their own. Today, these adults attend our club independently, confident in their ability to travel and use public services. With the help of health professionals, many have gained the confidence to travel solo and access other public services independently.
We’re Here to Support Anyone in Need
We continue to support individuals of all ages and backgrounds, helping them achieve their potential and overcome challenges. We are here to provide the assistance they need, whether it’s through training, employment, or simply offering a helping hand.
